Days out in Cornwall A holiday down in Cornwall is one of the most picturesque and enjoyable times away that you can find in Britain. Obviously for such a popular place there will be a large variety of options available to you when it comes to activities. Below we’ll go through a list of a few of my favourite things to do whilst away in Cornwall with a loved one and/or your children. Beaches. I’ll start with the obvious as you can’t go too far around Cornwall without finding a beach! There are over 100 beaches based along the south and north coasts so you will be able to find the right one for your mood. Busy, popular ones for the family and quiet, desolate ones if you’re looking to relax. Popular beaches include: Fistral beach – Newquay, Porthmeor beach – St Maur and Crooklets beach – St Ives. Eating out Obviously because of the amount of sea water surrounding the area, fish is high on most restaurants menu’s. This doesn’t mean that you can’t get a nice steak or salad and with hundreds of different restaurants available there will be something for even the fussiest pallet. If you are looking for some extra special then try Jamie Oliver’s – 15 or Rick Stein’s – The Seafood Restaurant. Cycling Trips Cornwall is home to some of the UK’s most beautiful and untouched countryside. There are well known stretches like the Camel Trail that runs for 11 miles between Bodmin and Padstow but for me and my family it’s the joy of cycling along a rarely used area that gives us the most excitement! Fishing Trips Go sea fishing with a local fisherman and relax an afternoon away. If you would rather fish off for rocks then this is just as good. With some of the finest fishing conditions anywhere in the south of England, Cornwall’s top spots are as follows: St Agnes, Padstow, Trevose and Godrevy Point producing some of my better fishing days!
